2.4 TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: The Sewing Machines

Specific Competence: Students will use a sewing machine. Learning Activities: Students will sew different machine stitches, such as straight and zigzag stitches. They will find common problems with sewing machines, like skipped stitches or broken needles. They will fix common sewing machine problems. 2.6 COLOUR APPLICATION: Colour Combination

Specific Competence: Students will create different desired designs on fabric. Learning Activities: Students will talk about what colour combinations are and different types. They will try out different colours to make specific textile designs, like making shades (black + orange) or tints (white + red), and patterns (motifs). 2.7 TEXTILE DESIGN

Specific Competence: Students will make different forms of interior design, use various design rules, and show culture in design. Learning Activities: Students will talk about different types of design, including fashion and interior design. They will create interior designs in practical sessions. Students will make a picture collage using magazine cutouts to practice making designs that are balanced, both evenly (symmetrical) and unevenly (asymmetrical).
